Cheaper and cheaper is not the answer
Really the only way ahead lies in tragedy. The secret is similar to Sonia Cashman she sells hard to find quality miniatures, Bilston enamels and sewing collectable, similarly Tom Hemmings also sell top quality kitchen antiques, and there is a ready market and discerning market for quality items. Of course hard work to find and many many miles and trudging looking for these things.
One thing I have noticed is antiques fairs seem to keep settling down or shaking down to an ever decreasing level seems to me that the market stall dealers with exceptions seem to fall into this trap making a vicious circle. With the higher buyer beating the living daylight out of each other in the auctions. Of course no one gain except the auctioneers with these days 50 % commission with buyers premium.
Luckily there are still lots of good dealers out there and in Top Banana Antiques we have many search Anne Parker, Thackham, Hawkwood, Piers Rankin, Bullionaire, Mark Thomas, not that these are our only quality dealers by any means but guaranteed to always have quality in quantity.
