Antique Georgian Period hand drawn Ink Silhouette on Vellum featuring the image of a mature Lady in pose wearing traditional dress wit her hair up finished with ringlets to her temples as was popular with the period.

Nicely detailed, This Unique and well preserved silhouette is mounted in original period Ebonised wooden frame with convex glaze intact to the picture window set within a gilded metal inner bezel, to the top of the frame is original lug and clasp fitting featuring as an Ormolu Acorn Finial, the Silhouette has good provenance to the reverse of the frame in the form of a hand written label featuring the legend "Harriet Wood - My Grandmothers Sister" also present is the date for the 6th of February circa 1821.

The Frame measures 14 cm x 12 cm x 1 cm in dimension or 5.6 inches x 4.8 inches x 0.2 inches in dimension with the silhouette itself measuring 8 cm x 7.5 cm or 3.2 inches x 3 inches, the weight of the item is 110 grams or 3.8 ounces.

A Lovely Antique Silhouette  From the Early Reign of King George IV, one that will add beautifully to an existing gallery of period Art or as a stand alone decorators piece for the home.
