Antique Georgian Period Circa 1820's Lovely Example of a hand drawn Ink Silhouette on Vellum featuring the image of a mature Gentleman in pose wearing traditional of the period including Jabot at the neck.
Nicely detailed, This Unique and well preserved silhouette is mounted in original period Ebonised wooden frame with convex glaze intact to the picture window set within a gilded metal inner bezel, to the top of the frame is original lug and clasp fitting featuring as an Ormolu Acorn Finial, the reverse to the frame is vacant of framers board, remnants of paper remain however as does the original mounting plate to the silhouette in the form of a toothed oval fixture in gilt tin.
The Frame measures 13 cm x 10.8 cm x 1 cm in dimension or 4.8 inches x 4.2 inches x 0.2 inches in dimension with the silhouette itself measuring 7.5 cm x 6 cm or 2.8 inches x 3.2 inches, the weight of the item is 104 grams or 3.6 ounces.
