Antique Early Victorian Circa 1850 Unique and well preserved Example of a hand drawn Ink Silhouette with Gouache Accents on gauge Vellum featuring the image of a young Girl in Idle pose wearing traditional frock dress holding a Toy Doll at her Skirts, the Girl casts a Shadow upon the floor she stands with faded details in the back drop of Skirting and gallery rails.

Nicely detailed, the silhouette is mounted in a period Gilded Gesso on Wood frame of an ornate design including concave Fleur-Dy-Lys corners to a foliate detailed open gallery, original glaze is intact to the frame as is backboard and hanging lug to the reverse.

The Frame measures 20 cm x 17 cm x 3 cm in dimension or 8 inches x 6.8 inches x 1.2 inches in dimension with the silhouette itself measuring 12.5 cm x 10 cm or 4.8 inches x 5 inches, the weight of the item is 332 grams or 11.7 ounces.

A Lovely and quite unique Antique piece of a highly collectible subject, Rare to find in this condition. one that will add beautifully to an existing gallery of period Art or as a stand alone decorators piece for the home.
