Vintage Early 20th Century Free Standing, Novelty Hand Painted Egg shaped thimble case in Sycamore detailed to the exterior with the image of a Cockerel walking along grass as a gallery wrap, the thimble holder is a two piece affair, simply removed the top to reveal the period thimble within which is in sterling silver and marked for Chester Assay office circa 1908, sizing to a number #8.
The Thimble case is in good condition for age, was likely child painted due to the Naive style, the installed thimble is in undamaged condition, just needs a gentle clean.
When closed shut the thimble case measures 4 cm tall with a diameter to the body of 2.7 cm.
