Vintage Sterling Silver Rare example of a Coronation Souvenir in the form of the original Anointing Spoon used by the Royals presented in original retail box, this piece being released for the coronation that never took place for King Edward VIII, the spoon is in original condition save for patination to the silver and with the card retail box also being in well preserved condition it makes for a fabulous collectible piece pertaining to the uncrowned King Edward VIII (as noted to inside box lid 'E.R' - May 12th 1937'.

The Spoon measures 11.2 cm in length and is impressed to the reverse of the stem with markings indicating Birmingham assay office circa 1936 with the makers mark for Deakin & Francis of Regent Place, Birmingham.
