Antique Mid 19th Century Rare, Russian Hand Manufactured Table Snuff Box in Black Lacquered Papier Mache finished with a Gouache hand painted Pictorial to the lid featuring a traditional  scene of Passengers freezing their way on Horse Drawn Sleighs in the Tundra making their way back to their Homesteads in the distance.

In Good Antique Condition the box shows some age related wear in the form of a small chip to the corner of the lid to the box in one place, nothing serious, the paintwork and lacquer are however without damage.

The Box lid opens and closes correctly on hinge fitting and the box interior retains its original crimson lacquer with only mild signs of wear commensurate with age and use.

Of a Good Size, the Box when closed shut measures 14.7 cm x 9.7 cm x 4.8 cm in dimension or 5.8 x 3.8 x 1.8 inches in dimension and weighs 272 grams or 9.6 Ounces.

Makes for a Fabulous Alexander II era Collectible piece as well as still being perfectly useable and a superb decorators item.

Will serve for a variety of uses.
