Antique 19th Century Novelty Go-To-Bed Chamber stick in plated Britannia Metal featured as a leaf type wax bowl as the base fitted with a scrolled handle and traditional candle sconce with the figure of an Owl at the stem to the handle, the owl features a hinged neck so as to serve for when lifting the head up as a lid with access to interior for stored matches so as to light a candle installed within the sconce.
A delightful antique piece, shows age related wear, notably heavy loss of plating to the Britannia metal but is otherwise undamaged.
The Chamber stick in its entirety measures 18 cm x 9.7 cm x 7 cm in dimension with the candle sconce feature having a socket diameter (to accommodate candle) of 2.2 cm.
