Antique Early 20th Century Unusual, Rare Pattern tea Spoon featured as a stylised Roman affair, as a one piece solid sterling silver Heron (Or wading Bird) handled spoon.
Chase detailed in three dimensional relief the spoon is in very good condition for age, measures 12 cm in length and is impressed with good clear markings to the underside of the spoon bowl for London assay office (Foreign import mark) circa 1924 with the importers mark for Barr, Moering & Co whom imported items from Europe from circa 1902 through to circa 1908.
The Spoon is Dutch in origin, marked to the stem on one side with the date letter for circa 1922, this piece being manufactured earlier than assayed in London for retail.
A Handsome piece, very collectible and still perfectly useable, will benefit from a gentle clean and polish but is otherwise in original condition more or less.
