Antique Mid Victorian Period Lovely Quality Traditional Styled Mourning Brooch Framed in Pinchbeck on a flat cut and polished oval stone of Moss Agate set to the centre with a Pinch bezel framed Mourning Window installed with original woven plait of hair of the deceased.
A Very handsome example of the period and in superb condition, there being no damages to either ornate pinchbeck frame, the polished Moss agate or indeed the centre Mourning Window Setting, the reverse to the brooch retains original pin and clasp fitting in good working order making this piece to be in original condition more or less.
The Brooch dates to around circa 1865, measures 3.3 cm x 3.2 cm with a depth of roughly 6 mm and is ready to be worn.
