Antique Late Edwardian Period circa 1910 Large and Impressive gilded cast brass door knocker in the form of an Eagle perched upon a dais platform with caryatid pleated and scrolled leaf below, the shoulders to the dais are mounted with the hinged knocker feature adorned with scrolled foliate details to the apex and sides with a closed gallery of impressed banding, the reverse to the knocker features a duo of threaded sockets so as to accommodate bolt fittings so as to serve for when mounting to a door, these will need to be sourced independently as the original fittings are no longer present.
Measuring 21 cm in length with a width of 11 cm and a maximum depth of 4 cm or 8.2 inches by 4.3 inches by 1.5 inches it makes for a superb example of the period in well preserved condition with only light age related wear present, the brass having a lovely patination from age it will make for a fabulous addition to any door.
