Who is Ortak?
Actually Malcolm Gray, who founded Ortak jewellery on Orkney in the 1960s, the firm ceased trading in 2014, but was restarted in 2017.
Original items with MG for Malcolm Gray and with a full hallmark are the most sought after.
Whilst most items were made in silver just like Ola M Gorrie, but some were made in 9ct gold which due to their cost are rarer.
Like all Scottish jewellery a great field and an affordable field to collect, heads up much better value outside the Scottish borders.
