What is tinder?
Not a dating site, actually normally its a type of lint, what lint I hear you cry tiny bits of fluff and cloth. Which actually is really flammable, when caught by a spark.
So a tinder box is where to keep you tinder dry and the faux gun pictured here is a go to bed with integral tinder box. When the flint strikes the hammer a spark is caused and lights the tinder, making fire and then wooden spills are used to light your oil lamps, candles, fires etc.
