Valentine's Day Is For Everyone
Valentine's Day and romance is celebrated the world over on 14th February and nowhere more so than here in the Uk where we celebrate with gifts of flowers, jewels & chocolates.
In the USA Americans spend over 18 million dollars a year on romantic gifts not just for couples. Family, friends,schoolchildren and even pets also exchange gifts and notes of friendship, affection and appreciation.
In South Korea & Japan it’s the men who are pampered on Valentine’s day when women buy chocolates & gifts for their male partners and family members. But don’t worry the favour is returned a month later when on 14th March, known as White Day, men reciprocate with gifts, chocolate and flowers for the ladies.
And if you're single, Finland is the place to be. You don't have to worry about being left out of the festivities because it's all about celebrating with your friends, it's even called "Ystävänpäivä" Friendship Day.
