Unfortunately old ladies tend to sell old lady style antiques
Not as it sounds, i.e. meaning a young buck might sell super trendy stock but its hard for old school dealers to keep up with whats wanted, there is a strong market out there for certain antiques.
But not unfortunately always what your granny had, as with car shapes and colours antiques ebb and flow in whats wanted.
Often dealers mistake old for gold. Pushing on flogging a cake stand or some doilies, or even tea set your unlikely to have a great time selling. There is no vast issue with peddeling these type of good except generally old ladies sell their things and rarley add to their collections.
We embrace and encourage new to the trade dealers and actually sometimes we learn from them too, Cotswold Collectables have opened out eyes to some of the newer market trends which is great.
