Tea Caddy and not a golfer insight
A caddy is a holder for things, obviously in the case of a tea caddy for holding tea, often a mixture of Chinese and Indian tea, black and white or green tea.
Often it is thought that the bowl in a large double caddy was for blending actually not true, it was for sugar and equally as expensive product all kept under lock and key, safely away from petty theft normally from the staff working in a house.
So when you hear the word tea caddy, you know to think of a box for keeping tea safe not a trolley to keep your golf tees in.
