Tavern Bells
Maybe a more modern take would be servant or waiter bells, as one would lift the candlestick to strike the bells hidden below and call the attention of the publican or waiter.
Definitely rarer then the average candlestick tending to date from mid 18th century to about 1860. Ones in the picture c1840.
There are two other variations one where the bell sit in a cradle just below the candle sconce, or another with the same but a wheel is used to move the bell on a spindle.
Add another dimension to own a pair of candlesticks.
