Spinnel sounds like a yarn
However spinnel are natural dug stones similar to diamond, sapphire, aquamarine, ruby and emerald. The only difference being is they are not quiet as hard as the aforementioned precious stones.
I guess as they are not found at such deep levels in mines etc, nearly all, particularly in twentieth century rings dark blue sapphire are spinnel, and many of the rubies and emeralds are too, doesn't mean they are inferior just slightly different and semi precious not precious, which is a measure of hardness not value.
Often these are found in mines side by side, precious stones. We test all stone electronically so you can be assured of buying the correctly described item.
