Not from the £5 room, but next door in cabinet room £10 for a c1740 mortar
OK no one wants a pestle and motar anymore. Not true. Especially when early, most are early c1800 ish but this is extra early they can go back to 17th century and still be found for relatively little.
Maybe much brass and copper not top of the pops but like brown furniture etc, whats good is good, and whats good sells.
This mortar still can be used would make great vase, poker holder, pen holder, kitchen utensil holder on and on. Never needs polishing of course can also be polished if you wish.
Indestructible and useful and good looking with the tulip pedestal stand and early for no money, whats not to love?. A 250 year old antique for less than 3 coffees.
