Mr Punch a Victorian invention?
Oh no it isn't! Samuel Pepys first mentioned him in 1662, so really quite ancient. The Victorians made into the popular puppet show that's known especially at seasides today.
When the crocodile came in we are not sure but many of these things were to commemorate wars lost and one.
This door stop still having its original paint is a rarity and is in particularly good order, we also have Judy his wife and a brass one too all brought from a private collection.
