How much time would this take to complete?
Take a look at a 10 cm square and just work out the time and effort, to complete just that much, compare this to a modern hand made item and then compare the cost.
Antiques are cheap the work and and let alone quality of materials cannot be replicated.
Then add intrinsic value and one can really appreciate just how good this is. Samplers in good order are increasingly hard to find, we have had a handful in the shop in last few months and they have all sold quickly.
