Fancy a Spa
Spa like so many places Mauchline, Dieppe, Limoges, Pontlypool, Battersea, Sussex trug, etc etc are products named after the place they come from.
Spa a small town in Belgium produced pressed papiermache more normally boxes but other items were made. Then hand painted scenes from life often pubs and taverns with well painted oil paint pictures.
Obviously an easy and great object to collect, generally made around the start of the 19th century circa 1810 ironically around the same time as possibly the most famous of Belgium towns was made a world wide name in the name of Waterloo.
Of course Belgium being a natural cross over for cultures and talents from Europe.
