Cold painted Vienna bronze are a finely cast bronze item, normally a figure rather than an object, often whimsical or amusing, and more often or not themed and an animal.

The process involves casting in bronze via a lost wax system, then had finishing the cast item with tools to make fur details more defined. Then once finished the raw bronze if then painted allowing to get really fine detail into the item.

Finding original items in good order is hard and in particular getting the paint work crisp and unchipped, often these items were very appealing to children and tented to get knocked.
