Antique Edwardian period Lovely Quality Set of Silver Plated Fish Cutlery in original carved oak fitted box in very good condition, the cutlery appearing to have only seen light use in their long life, manufactured in the Old English Shelled Thread pattern the cutlery set comprises of six fish knives and six fish forks, each engraved with images of Salmon fish and foliate work, the reverse to each piece of cutlery is nicely finished with a faux dropper in a raised scroll and budded terminal pattern.
the Cutlery knives measure 22.5 cm in length or 8.8 inches and the forks measure 19 cm in length or 7.5 inches, each piece of cutlery is verbatim marked for EPNS (NS) indicating electro plated nickel silver along with the makers mark for Barker Brothers of Unity Works, Paradise Street, Birmingham, England.
The Accompanying fitted box for the cutlery set is in carved light oak and complete with brass cartouche to the box lid and brass inset escutcheon to the lock fitting which is in working order and complete with original steel key, the box when closed shut measures 25.5 cm x 21 cm x 6 cm in dimension.
A handsome antique set of fish cutlery dating to circa 1904, will make for a fabulous addition to any table setting this coming Christmas.
