Antique Late 18th Century Top Quality Tea Caddy Spoon in Sterling Silver, a fine example of the period and of an unusual style featuring a feather edged bowl finished with a beautiful closed gallery of foliate designs including chrysanthemum and ivy leaves, fitted with a stylised fiddle pattern handle vacant of engravings to the oblong cartouche to the handle the reverse to the spoon bowl is impressed with markings indicating Birmingham assay office circa 1797 with the makers mark for John Throp, also present is the duty mark for King George III.
The Caddy spoon measures 9 cm in length and is in undamaged condition making it to be a fine addition to any growing collection of period silverware as well as still as being very much useable, perfect for ones Leaf tea.
