Antique Late Victorian period Top Quality, Pin Clean condition table Cigar Lighter in the traditional style, featuring a wick with fuel reservoir so that when once lit it will perpetually burn until extinguished very much after a Roman oil lamp.
Featured as an ornate, two handled, lidded urn with Grecian over-tones the cigar lighter features the protruding wick to the top secured within a removable lid cradle, convex bodied the urn terminates with broad roundel foot, the stem of which is impressed with good clear markings indicating Birmingham assay office circa 1888 with the makers mark for Deakin & Francis of Regent Place, Birmingham.
The Cigar lighter stands 8.5 cm tall and has a width from handle edge to handle edge of 9.3 cm and a breadth to the body of 6 cm.
A Fine Example of the period, still perfectly useable and in undamaged condition.
