Antique early/Mid Victorian Period Top Quality Sterling Silver table Mustard Pot of an ornate and rather flamboyant design decorated to the body with a series of closed gallery frames, each detailed with a flower, the spaces between frames are detailed with chased designs including Fleur-Dy-Lys and fern, the bottom skirt to the mustard features a swag gallery raised lip and the body to the mustard is finished with a hinged, domed lid, similarly detailed as with the body, a pierce Fleur-Dy-Lys finger catch and central sceptre style lid finial, the handle to the mustard is foliate adorned and of a scroll arch pattern.
In Very good condition for age but missing its interior liner so will need to be restored the mustard pot stands 9 cm tall and has a base diameter of 7.1 cm and a width from handle edge to body edge of 9.5 cm.
The mustard Pot is impressed to the shoulder with good clear markings indicating London assay office circa 1860 with the makers mark for John Evans II, also present is the Duty Mark for Queen Victoria.
