Antique Late 19th Century Lovely Quality Norwegian Silver marriage Cup in the traditional style featured as a Lady in with stylised Octopus arms terminating with Sea Serpent caryatids to a hinged tot cup in foliate repousse, the dress to the lady serves as a tapered drinking cup which is also repousse detailed with chased floral designs in a double strapped closed gallery.
The marriage Cup is in well preserved condition throughout, there being no dings, damages or repairs and the silver retains a pleasing aged patination.
The Marriage cup stands 16 cm tall with a diameter at the brim of 6.7 cm, the rim to the skirt of the cup is impressed with good clear markings indicating Norway Silver with a makers mark in the form of a monogram.
