Antique circa 1900 Lovely Quality Naples Bay Carved Shell Cameo brooch mounted in 18ct Gold complete with hinged pin and clasp to the reverse as well as provisional gold safety chain.
Of a traditional oval shape the shell is relief carved in a celestial theme featuring 'Hebde & Zeus' the of a Grecian Robed Lady feeding the Eagle from a bowl in her hand as she sits upon a cloud within the heavens.
Mounted in gold the frame to the cameo is finished with a pierced swag loop gallery and as noted complete with fittings to the reverse, there are no damages or repairs to the brooch and no hairlines to the shell visible when the brooch is held to the light.
The gold frame is partially stamped for 18ct gold and the brooch measures approximately 5 cm x 4 cm with the safety chain having a length of 7.8 cm including terminal pin.
