Antique Georgian period circa 1800 Top Quality fob seal in 9ct gold set with a beautifully carved stone of carnelian featuring an intaglio in the form of a Knights Shield detailed with a Cullis pattern.
The frame to the Fob is of an ornate design featuring a pierce foliate cradle to a turned terminal which is inset with the carnelian intaglio, the top of the fob seal is finished with a static lug and fitted jump ring so as to serve for when being secured to an appropriate chain or similar.
The fob is in well preserved condition, no damages or repairs to the gold and no chips or hairlines to the carnelian.
The fob measures 2.3 cm x 2.2 cm x 1.6 cm in dimension with an intaglio measurement of 1.8 cm x 1.4 cm, Makes for a fantastic example of the period and a fine addition to any collection.
