Vintage Art Deco Era Pair of Felted Canvas Spats, Traditionally worn as shoe covers to give a stylish Two Tone effect whilst wearing a favoured pair of shoes, be it Oxfords, Wing Tips or Brogues for the Gentleman or Mary Janes for the Lady.
Very Popular in America during the period but also worn here in England these Original period Spats are finished with dyed Mother Of Pearl buttons and retain original Leather straps and metal buckle fittings so as to serve for when wearing about the ankle and securing to the bridge and underside of a worn shoe.
The Spats measure 21 cm x 14 cm or 8.25 inches x 5.5 inches and have a diameter to fit the ankle of roughly 17 cm or 6.8 inches.
These Spats make for a fabulous Decorators piece as well as being usable with a gentle clean and oiling to the metal buckles.
