Vintage/Retro Original Watercolour painting on Gauge Card by the noted artist 'William Hyams' (c1878 - c1952) was traditionally a Landscape painter, born in Portsmouth, he spent his childhood in Guernsey and Studied at Brighton School of Art and subsequently settled there.

This fine painting is in well preserved condition and is titled "Passing Through The Lock At Southwick) Featuring a single stack chimney Fishing boat about to dock and unload, fully crewed with bystanders watching on the wharf, painted just before or at the start of the Second World war, dating this painting to around circa 1938 - 1940, fully glazed and professionally framed it makes for a Wonderful decorators piece for the home signed by the artist W. Hyams.
The Frame itself measures 67 cm x 54 cm with the painting in its entirety measuring 48 cm x 35 cm.
The reverse to the frame retains stringing so as to serve for when hanging from a wall as part of a gallery.
