Iconic & very collectable Lea Stein terrier type dog brooch or pin dating from the 1970's. Fantastic green with a red bow in colour.
The brooches were made by layering very thin sheets of cellulose acetate and laminating them to form a "multi-coloured sandwich of plastic". Each 'sandwich' was baked for a long time, then cooled and cut into shapes. The process could take as long as six months.
As expected you can see the Lea Stein Paris mark to the clasp. Good secure clasp with a good pin.
Size 3.8 x 3.4 cm or 1.4 x 1.3 inches.
Weight 3.2 grams or 2.0 penny weight.
