Antique Early Victorian period Circa 1840s lovely quality hand drawn ink silhouette of a mature lady in traditional dress including collar looking to the left and standing in pose she wears her hair up in a bun with ringlets at her brow, Possibly The Lady of the House, a nanny or housemaid having her likeness captured forever By the artist.
In very good condition throughout there being no damage to the card and a pleasing age related sepia striking a contrast between the ink and the setting.
The card measures 10 cm by 7.5 cm or 4 x 3 inches and is hand signed to the reverse with the recipient's namesake for Mariana Thompson.
A lovely example of the period as well as a fine addition to any collection of silhouettes will frame beautifully.
