An exceptional Georgian gentleman's vanity box circa 1790, crafted from mahogany with sterling silver fittings bearing London assay marks from 1821. This comprehensive toilet box is a treasure trove of period grooming and travel essentials, featuring four steel and tortoiseshell cut-throat razors, a Moroccan leather strop, and six silver boxes for storing pomades and powders. The interior reveals two travelling inkwells and four Irish cut lead crystal glass bottles, whilst the lower Moroccan leather tray houses nine mother-of-pearl and steel implements including fruit knives. The hinged top lid drops to expose a mirror, completing this sophisticated ensemble.
