A Rare piece of History containing Folio, Charts & tables with a statistical study of the nature of crimes From the Georgian period through to the Early Victorian period which caused people to be held in the Salisbury Gaol between the years of 1801 and 1850, each years data is broken down into six sessions with the nature of the crime listed along with summary punishments including executions, articles on the more interesting cases are set out for each year making for some fine reading as well as a window into the history of English Crime, also attached to a few of the pages are cut portions of period newspapers containing print indicating certain charges within the region of Wiltshire and Somerset, mainly about 'Urchins' of the period, their crime and punishment.
Manufactured in marbled paper boards with morrocoy leather spine and corners with plain endpapers, solid throughout, mild foxing present with spot sepia commensurate with age, all pages intact, no rips or tears, light wear to leather fittings and exterior board.
