Antique Late Victorian period Top Quality Artisan jewellery manufactured Dress Ring in 15ct Gold set with both Rose Cut Rubies and Old Cut Diamonds in an Alternating closed gallery to the setting which is finished with a reeded inner gallery and pie crust trim, the shoulders to the ring are foliate detailed and lead to a tapered shank with an apex width of 2.5 mm, the face setting to the ring measures 1.5 cm in width and 8 mm in breadth accommodating the gemstones which graduate in size, the central Ruby measuring roughly 0.3 pts and the terminating rubies 0.1 pts.
The Stones are of a lovely colour and cut and in well preserved condition as is the structure of the ring itself but does bear evidence of a resize at some point in its life to the inner shank which is impressed with good clear markings indicating Birmingham assay office (c1883 - c1898 mark) 15ct gold (625) and with the makers mark for Samuel usher, A Noted Jeweller of the period whom worked out of Vyse Street, Birmingham.
