A Fabulous Antique Late Regency circa 1830 Over Mantle Mirror in Gesso on wood with bronze fittings featuring a trio of Looking Glasses in the traditional style but boasting Dual Egyptian Pharoah Caryatids to the sides as Fluted Columns with feet and a cold painted bronze Pharoah's Head above which resides a Lotus Leaf, the mainstay of the mirror being mounted with closed panel gallery pictorial of a classic Grecian Harvest theme in gilded bronze including A Lion Drawn litter seating The Harvest Goddess Demeter with a duo of Cherubs, also present are two of her maidens, one with a Ewer of Wine and one with a sickle in hand whom sits with a duo of Putti, flanked to Demeter's Right is a Robed Man grain bag and central and key set are two Harvest Wheat Bales with Cherubs adding to the bounty, a winged Cherub soaring above and a trio of Putti, likely drunk as one stands sipping from a gourd.
The Mirror Frame is gilt throughout with the pictorial panel and fluted caryatid columns being painted black (at a more recent time likely being that the mirror needed to be restored), the Mirror frame is finished with a dais platform top with beaded roundel fringe below.
Overall condition is very good for age with only minor Spot foxing present to each of the looking glasses and age related wear to the frame.
Measuring 161 cm in width or 63 inches and standing 70.5 cm tall or 27.7 inches it makes for an imposing and very impressive antique piece and one that will grace any home beautifully, Quite perfect above a working fire place or displayed as desired.
