Vintage late 20th Century Pre-Raphaelite Inspired take on a traditional Match Safe or Match Vesta case in Sterling Silver.

Featured as a classic tablet shaped vesta it is adorned to the front with a three dimensional figure of a Mermaid in ocean waves brushing her hair, the sides and reverse to the vesta are vacant, the item being finished with a lipped, hinged flip lid with spring plate in good working order, opening the lid allows access to the interior for storing ones matches for striking to the toothed channel to the bottom edge of the vesta as with a traditional piece.
In very good condition the vesta, with lid closed shut measures 6 c mx 3.5 cm x 8 mm in dimension and is impressed to the inside lip for London Import 'Sterling' circa 1991 with the importers mark 'L-I', (the vesta was likely American manufactured as an export piece).
Good condition throughout, light wear, will benefit from a clean and polish but otherwise is a fine example and in original condition more or less.
