An ex-voto is a mostly Christian votive offering to a Saint or a divinity given in fulfillment of a vow (from the Latin term, short for 'ex voto suscepto', "from the vow made") or in gratitude or devotion. Ex-votos are placed in a Church or Chapel and destinations along pilgrimages often include Shrines decorated with ex-votos. This one is French, monogrammed and dates back to the 19th Century and is framed in a patinated metal frame. In good used condition with minor tarnishing and discolouring.
