Antique late 19th Century Japanese Meiji period circa 1890 Lovely Quality Dragon Decorated Box in Copper Washed Antimony.
Cylindrical Drum type in shape the removable lid to the box shows the Fierce Dragon within a Bamboo Forest, its body coiled amongst the poles of bamboo whilst the side wall to the box is relief detailed with a perpetual gallery of Bamboo poles and Chrysanthemum flowers in bloom.
Good Condition for age the box was likely a table snuff box (or similar) but would serve for a variety of uses as desired, with lid in place the box stands 5.2 cm tall and has a diameter of 6.3 cm.
