Antique circa 1910 Italian 'Ricordo' Ware (Memento/Souvenir) Carved Olivewood Table Cigarette Dispenser box in the traditional style featuring a manual self loading dispenser movement, to operate, one simply fills the box with cigarettes by removing the outer box sleeve, allowing one access to the box interior then replace, once done it is now ready to be used by lifting the box exterior upwards, when done so a single cigarette is dispensed out of the slot on the top of the box.
Decorated with a duo of hand painted Birds and the legend "Ricordo De Napoli" (indicating Memento of Naples) these boxes and various other objects were locally manufactured and sold as tourist pieces during the period to those on a wonderful Grand Tour.
The Box weighs 382 grams or 13.4 ounces and has a dimension of 12 cm x 10 cm x 8 cm or 4.8 inches x 4 inches x 3.1 inches in dimension.
In Good Antique Condition but does show some age related wear including a stress line to the bottom front wall, nothing serious, the analogue dispenser movement is functional still, it being a simple yet reliable invention.
