Antique Early 19th century Late King George III era Gorgeous pair of Sterling Silver Sugar Tongs (or nips) in a bright cut pattern finished with chevroned cartouches to the shoulders chased with floral design, one piece manufactured the tongs terminating with goose egg bowls and retain a smooth but firm movement when used.
In Very good Antique condition the tongs measure 14 cm in length and are impressed to the inner apex of the spine with good clear markings indicating London assay office circa 1815 with the makers mark for Thomas Wallis II (whom apprenticed under his Father Thomas Wallis I, a noted maker of the latter 18th Century), also present is the Duty Mark for King George III.
