Antique Early 19th Century Lovely Quality pocket snuff box artisan manufactured in Sterling Silver featured as a raised dais panelled lozenge finished with closed galleries of turned pin stripe patterning to the body throughout with the lip to the lid and floor of the box crust edged.
In Good condition for age, the box only showing minor wear from handling throughout the years and still retaining a firm but smooth movement to the lid when operated on its piano hinged spine.
With lid closed shut the box measures 6 cm x 4.5 cm x 1.8 cm in dimension and is marked to the inside wall of the lid for London assay office circa 1802 with the makers mark for Samuel Godbehere, Edward Wigan and James Boult, also present is the duty mark for King George III.
A Handsome, very tactile example of the period, still very much useable, one that will serve for a variety of uses.
