Antique Early 20th Century Sterling Silver matchbox cover in the traditional style, a small sized piece no doubt for the pocket serving as an on the spot solution for a fire light during the period the matchbox cover is detailed to the exterior with a pin strip turned pattern and impressed to the end terminal with markings indicating London assay office circa 1922 with the makers mark for Stephen J Rose of Tottenham Court Road, London, the matchbox cover is presented with original period 'The Ship' card manufactured matchbox to complete (no matches present).

The Matchbox cover measures 4.5 cm x 2.8 cm x 1.3 cm in dimension, is in good but used condition, will benefit from cleaning and polishing.
