Antique Early 19th Century period Lovely Quality Sterling Silver Mug, Likely a Christening mug but then later used as a chutney mug for a table setting, of a classic design after a coopers strapped barrel the mug features a beautifully scrolled handle and is finished proud, triple lipped rim, assay markings are present to the collar of the mug indicating London Assay office circa 1830 with a partial makers mark for Hyam Hyams, whom was a silver worker from c1819 through to c1831, also present is the duty mark for King William IV.

The Mug is outwardly in very good, clean condition for age, there being no dings or splits to the body and no evidence of repairs and only mild signs of age related cosmetic use, this specimen being near 200 years old.
The Mug stands 6 cm tall and has a base diameter of 5.5 cm and a width from handle edge to lip of 7.7 cm.
A handsome example of the period, perfect for a strong beverage or for display within a collection.
