Antique Edwardian Period Rare and unique Watch Fob medal in 9ct Yellow Gold, this particular example pertaining to the 'Hounslow Wheelers' (Now Hounslow & District Wheelers formed in the 1930's) so pre-dating this reborn cycling club.

Featured as a traditional watch fob / medal the item is of an ornate design finished with a duo of Bicycle Wheels Flanking a central set raised Shield Cartouche and lower half Crown, the top of the medal has a terminating lug so as to serve for when securing to a watch chain or similar, the reverse to the fob is engraved with the unique legend relative to the recipient of the medal during the Edwardian period that reads "Hounslow Wheelers - 50 Miles Road Test - B.W Holgate" the flanking panels are legend engraved with the year '1905' and the recipients recorded time of '2hrs 32 mins 41 seconds'.
The Fob measures 3.8 cm x 3.1 cm and is impressed with good clear markings indicating London assay office 9ct Gold (375) circa 1905 with the makers mark for William Hair Haseler of Hylton Street, Birmingham.
