Antique circa 1910 Good Quality Cast Brass Door Knocker featured as The head of Bacchus, The Roman God of Wine in Overall good condition, there being no cracks or damages and with the brass boasting a lovely, dark and aged weathered patina but could be cleaned to a high shine if desired.
Bacchus features in the traditional style, wears grape leaves as his hair with fruit protruding at the ears where the hinged knocker plate is mounted which features as a laurel gallery with central cartouche to the bottom bar at the striker plate, the knocker in its entirety measures 17.5 cm x 13 cm with a depth of 4.5 cm, the fitted bolts to the reverse of the knocker are intact and retain enclosing nuts, each of the bolts have an approximate length of 3.5 cm.
A Handsome example of the period, one that will adorn any door beautifully.
