Sterling Silver Repousse Low Mark Dog Nose Berry Spoon Antique London circa 1758

Vinces Vault

vvv240360.T

Antique Early King George III Era Rare Example of a Very Well preserved Low Mark Berry Spoon in the traditional style but with a medley of fruits including Strawberry, Pineapple and Melon in Repousse within a beaded gallery to the bowl, the stem to the spoon being nicely detailed with a chased and adorned collar of leaves terminating with an elaborate threaded cartouche at the handle and Dog Nose finial.

The Spoon is in original condition more or less, there being no dings, damages or repairs, just mild patination to the silver but would clean to a high shine if desired.
The Spoon measures 21.3 cm in length and is impressed with a good set of Low marks indicating London assay office circa 1758 with the makers mark For 'R.B' likely for Robert Burton.
A handsome example of the latter 18th century and a fabulous addition to a collection.
