Vintage War Time era circa 1940's Rare in car/Automobile rear view mirror with a Swiss made, manual winding clock feature, an interesting example of the period which would have been pre-installed into a top end, English manufactured car.
The item is fashioned in black enamel painted metal with original fittings to the reverse for mounting to a dash or windshield interior, clock movement is central to the mirror which is black matte finished and features an Arabic dial with white enamel hour and minute hands, the winding knob for the clock movement is easy access to the underside edge of the mirror and can also be adjusted by such, the clock movement is signed for 'Swiss Made' is no doubt a jewel set movement with lever escapement, takes a full wind and runs without issue.
Measuring 12 cm in width and 6.3 cm in breadth or 4.8 inches by 2.5 inches the mirror has a depth including fitting of 6 cm or 5.9 inches.
Makes for an interesting collectible piece of Automobilia, ready to be used, perfect as a Retro addition to a modern car or as a valuable piece for restoration of a Classic vintage car.
The reverse to the casing of the mirror is marked for Swiss Made, British patent 30375.
